But today my cycling activity took me into the south side of Toxteth… very different to my media informed picture of Toxtheth…

Grafton Street and Caryl Street run parallel to each other and parallel to Sefton Street which is the main road taking you from the Albert Dock. But both Grafton Street and Caryl Street are interrupted, you cannot drive the length of these streets – and I don’t know if you ever could… Grassed areas link the different sections of the streets, community [foot] access from one section of houses to another.

There are greens amongst the houses – by which I mean grass – mown grassed areas and a Landlife wildflower meadow.
Just cycling through – and without research – I can only go on observations, and what I see is an area that has been ‘regenerated’.
It looks like a lot of housing stock has been demolished and rebuilt - new stock set amongst the old terraced houses, a falling down school, warehouses and gas works, and all punctuated by open managed green spaces and Brownfields – fenced and open sites…
